- I'm fortunate to have a really great work environment. My own office, ample parking, peace and quiet, and a bathroom that maybe 3 other people use. Every so often someone brings in a fruity smelling liquid hand soap because the white foam stuff in the wall dispenser is just so boring. That being said, when this soap gets near the bottom, instead of throwing it out, someone adds water to it (?!?!) Who does this? (Not me, so if you're quick at math, that leaves the other 3 people who use the bathroom). Throw it away people! Dang.
- Got some more tennis time in last night and I lovelovelove it! I wish I could work 11-7 so I could spend 2hrs each morning practicing. If I could go back in time, I wish I would have dedicated more time to a sport and see how far I could have gone.
- The strawberries I bought this week were bangin. Peak season is coming up!
- The past 3 mornings worth of news have been nothing but children and young adults being kidnapped, raped, murdered, etc. Literally. There are 5 active stories now of people from this area and it's sick.
- My birds must be making friends while I'm at work. There have been some sparrows hanging near my porch in the morning before I leave for work. Chirping away, I know they're all talking about something!
- I'm about to declare war on the stink bugs who keep sneaking in my place and buzzing around my room at night! I can't go to sleep knowing one could land on my head or in my bed, so I'm on a freakin hunt every single night until I find them and get them out.
- Read a pretty good book about shrimp and the history of the shrimping industry this week. <3 my Kindle!
- Sprung for the deluxe wash yesterday. Rain-X, wax, foam wheel shine... Nothing prettier than a sparkling clean black car.
- I would have the biggest Dr Evil 'mwwaaahhaha' laugh if I were the one sifting through Osama bin Laden's hard drive. Not sure how much they'll get from it, but it's gotta be fun for those tech forensic teams to crack it open.
- I get pretty awesome afternoon sun in my place this time of year. This ethereal glow captures the entire room and it's magnified even more by the warm tone of my paint (White Pine). My favorite color, which my kitchen and hallway are painted, is called Willow Wind. Both are from Lowe's and the pale green of this green shade is just perfect.
- Ooh those birds I wrote about earlier just fly up to the door! Couldn't grab the camera fast enough, but they chirped enough to get my birds all amped up.
- I am so so thankful I grew out of the horrible allergies I had when I was younger. The only remaining one is the cat allergy. Kitties are cute, but not when they cause unbearable hives and swollen eyes that look like someone hit me in the face.
- Had a little sandwich after work. Let's say pancakes took the place of bread and Nutella was the filling. An 11 on the 1-10 delish meter.
- SVU is on tonight. Yes!
All me. All the time. With some thoughts, opinions, rants, and raves thrown in.

It's time for... Wednesday Randoms!
I might just make this Wednesday Randoms a regular thing. Judging by the overwhelming positive feedback (imaginary voices in my head), it's been quite the hit. Let's get started

Wednesday Randoms
Worked late tonight. So now I'm home, full of energy I always get working a later shift and I have no outlet for it. So get excited- it's time for Wednesday randoms! Free-flowing thoughts from my mind to this page. A burst of randomness. Here we go...
- I've been guilty of driving too close behind others on many occasions. Shocking to think I get ticked when people do this to me. However, I seem to get less ticked if someone is driving my same SUV in the same color, as if it were a family member tailing me other than a complete stranger. Or maybe I feel a sense of camaraderie since we share the same taste in cars. Ridiculous all around.
- Contacts are really bugging my lately. Some days I feel I have a built in barometer sitting on my eyeballs as they get so irritated by dry air and any major changes in weather.
- I had grilled octopus on my salad today and I've realized I need to work octopus into my menu a little more often. It's not the easiest to find, so this may have to be limited to dining out, but it's sooooo good!
- Watched the premiere of 'The Voice' on NBC last night. I'm a fan. The concept of judging someone based on their talent and not looks was headed for extinction, especially in a reality show format. The judges are pretty good too. Adam Levine is a little too cocky for his own good, and while undeniably talented, Christina Aguleira is really just a bleached-out peroxide version of Snookie. Really. Do a side by side and you'll see what I mean.
- Donald Trump is out of control. Does he really think anyone will take him seriously? I will vote for Oprah with Gayle as her running mate before I would ever consider voting for the Donald.
- Broad Street. 3 days!!!!
- Japan. How quickly they've been bumped from the headlines to make way for the Royal Wedding. Don't get me wrong- British pop culture has always been an interest of mine, and I've been up on the Wills and Kate thing since the early 00s (that decade abbreviation just looks so weird!), but come on. Let these two have their wedding, try to achieve some sense of normalcy about the situation and focus on some bigger issues going on. Like....
- Gas prices! Ugh! I bought my 2nd SUV 6 months ago knowing this was a possibility, but it's just getting to the point of sickening. I remember when it was $0.99/gal, right as I started college I think. I used to love to go out for a drive on a nice day and not a thought crossed my mind about the gas I was wasting. Not anymore!
- Glad to hear the duck that took up residence in the local Chik Fil-A parking lot had some little ducklings hatch yesterday. Why this quacker thought building her nest in the middle of a fast food lot (nowhere near a water source) was wise, I'm not sure. A little media attention got her some fencing around the nest, and it seems society left her alone and now she and the little fuzzy ducks can be relocated by wildlife staff somewhere more appropriate. (Duck- get yourself a good real estate agent next time!)
- I sit some days and think time goes sooo slowly, but then it seems every time I turn around I'm doing my month end expense report again.
- If SNL held an open casting call, I would show up.
- Got home after dark and didn't leave any lights on for my birds. My poor feathered children. I'm such a bad mom.

Randoms
No theme to this particular post- just whatever I've been thinking about recently in a bulleted format. Sure to be off-the-charts random.
- Made quite possibly the worst pizza tonight. Never thought "worst" and "pizza" were two words that could find their way into the same sentence, but yea... it was.... not so great. Simply put, it tasted like an english muffin with cheese on top. So much for the fresh dough idea : \
- Japan and this tsunami aftermath is mind boggling. First earthquakes, then tsunamis, and now both with complications of radioactivity thrown on top. Yikes. Thailand, Haiti, Chile, and now Japan. Since we're not the ones experiencing these horrors, are natural disasters bound to become more white noise in the background of our busy lives, much like the never-ending drama in the Middle East? Hopefully the world won't fall in the pattern of disaster, excessive media coverage, celebrity-packed charity concert thrown by the US weeks later... rinse and repeat.
- My Kindle and I are becoming pretty tight. The battery life is amazing and after 7 books finished, it's become just like reading a regular paper book. I'm trying to read a diverse selection of books spanning all genres. Classics, modern fiction, biographies... I have a feeling my most recent choice of 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' won't be a blast through like some of the more recent choices. Sometimes the whole slavery theme just isn't that enticing before you go to sleep.
- Never really finished the grandiose plans for redecorating my bedroom. Got a little sidetracked before the holidays. The walls are the perfect neutral canvas to take it in many directions; so neutral the tan and white sometimes has me feeling like I'm sitting inside a life size latte. I have the vision and the resources, but almost 7 years in... it's just not worth putting all my effort into. I'm wasn't even planning on being here this long.
- After taking last summer off (not entirely by choice), thinking of getting back into my tennis game this spring/summer. Once the tournaments start, that's when I'm usually dying to play. Wimbledon always gets me. Especially when Roger was owning it back to back years.
- Still haven't finalized any vacation plans. I always have some trip booked out in the future to look forward to. I'll put that on the next task list.
- Sometimes things just hit you. Common sense things you should know, but a thousand different distractions get in the way of your otherwise rational thinking. Logic doesn't always win the first time around. But it wins, eventually.
